I was born and raised in Utah. Mountains and Mormons they say, and of course "they" wouldn't be too wrong about that at all. With the mountains I have done a bit of snowboarding and I guess that would make me a little cooler to some people.

A lot of people have told me that they have some hard times with the Mormons. Since I have lived here all my life and been raised as one I don't see it the same way they do. Given I don't run around telling them of my own spiritual status either. The other issue a lot of people have is how difficult it is for them to get any real booze. Liquor licenses are hard to come by in this state and the sale of hard liquor in the grocrery stores is prohibited. Being as I am not a big drinker again I don't have those concerns. I can however sympathize with those of you that do.

Contrary to popular belief there are quite a few things that we can do in our "quaint" little state you just have to know what you want to do and what area has all that in it. With the olympics most of Downtown Salt lake was redone and most national stores that everyone likes to shop at moved in.

Most of us here have grown up doing some camping, rafting, skiing/boarding and other outdoor sports. We have a lot of area around us to do that kind of stuff. When you start getting away from the valleys though you start hitting desert and there is absolutely nothing else out there.

Most of us that live up north that aren't really on the honor list for the church will take weekend trips to Wendover. You see wendover is on the border of Utah and Nevada. This means that part of the city enables us to gamble and drink as much booze as we possibly can before making our return trip to a stricter and more church organized state that we came from.

When we have the time and when we have the money a larger trip to Vegas is in store for us. From what I have heard Cali folks go to Tia Juana, Utahns have to settle for Vegas. Not of course that we are complaining just we have to do what is in our ability to do.

My school

Currently I am attending a technical college in the pursuit of aquiring a few certifications and then using that as a step to get a job in order to attend one of several universities in the area. I may continue in the university with the computer Science or just go into the Philosophy and Psychology courses that at this point are attracting most of my interest.
