Describing these ties in any great detail is a little difficult and the concepts are most commonly needed to be experienced in order to fully understand there implementations. HoweverI will give to the best of my ability some anologies which can help give some idea.

It first needs to be said that all bonds and links of a psychic nature are not malicious. They can be used that way and often are but this does not mean that every time you find yourself in the position of having a link or bond on you that it is there in order to hurt you. There are many times that these things are ones that are created between two individuals in regards to the relationship they have with each other in a constructive and beneficial way.

Links are bonds are more often called doorways or portals into another individual's psyche. They are placed there usually for the intention to moniter, manipulate and interact with another emotions, thoughts, or spiritual energy. In a sharing aspect these ties are supposed to be something to help ally or become closer with the other person. In a harmful aspect they are used to manipulate them in a way that is beneficial for the one who placed these ties.

Bonds and links have some differences with each other. Bonds are more commonly two way while links are just one. Think of a bond as a two way radio and reciever where as a link is only one way and usually hidden from the victim it is placed on. The bond gives both parties most of the time equal power with the exception that the more skilled and experienced psychic usually always has the upper hand.

Empaths naturally being receptive in dealing with emotions will have a very easy time here using links and bonds. Most often in manipulation an empath will flood the tie with their own created emotion in which the receptor will start to mimic. This will make dealing with them easier. for example to keep a conversation going the empath can flood the victims emotive state with a sense of curiousity, this giving the receptor feelings of wanting to know more about whatever subject they are speaking on. Another would be to flood someone's psyche with a feeling of guilt, this would make the victim succeptible into feeling that the person they are speaking with is someone that they wronged perhaps even in a way that they would want to fix that.

Those that are able to control and direct energy will also find links and bonds very useful. Directing healing or enouraging energies to the receptor is one such way. As well as on the alternative destructive and sickening energies can also be used through these openings.

Though none of these things are reliant on links or bonds it is however easier and much more direct way of influencing the receptor. If you encounter something in your psyche that you feel is a link or a bond you might want to first figure out if it is wanted and if it is one you are aware of. If not the best thing to do is to get rid of it.
